It was initially turned away from me but she soon turned around and started snapping her head around, listening to rodents under the snow…then falling asleep…then becoming attentive again. After what felt like forever but was likely just 45 minutes, my hands cold and my right arm tired from holding it up waiting for that split second and she took off and flew in my direction. I finally got a shot I wanted. What amazes me is the amount of great wildlife photographers on this forum who consistently get shots way better than this. The time, effort and skill required continues to amaze me and inspires me to keep trying to get anything close to what I see on here. Thanks to everyone for posting all of these amazing photos!
