Sharp image that stands out nicely from the background. Peter2516 wrote in post #19468536 ![]() Absolutely stunning, Peter! Dontcry4mejanhrdina wrote in post #19468559 ![]() I’ve struggled mightily when it comes to birds in flight, especially owls. Either they’re too far away, fly the wrong direction, light isn’t good enough or I flat out just miss the shot. Add in my tendency to get a little stir crazy and start wandering plus my lack of patience and it hasn’t come easy for me. I spotted this snowy sitting on a pole and set up with the sun facing it. It was initially turned away from me but she soon turned around and started snapping her head around, listening to rodents under the snow…then falling asleep…then becoming attentive again. After what felt like forever but was likely just 45 minutes, my hands cold and my right arm tired from holding it up waiting for that split second and she took off and flew in my direction. I finally got a shot I wanted. What amazes me is the amount of great wildlife photographers on this forum who consistently get shots way better than this. The time, effort and skill required continues to amaze me and inspires me to keep trying to get anything close to what I see on here. Thanks to everyone for posting all of these amazing photos! ![]() Hosted photo: posted by Dontcry4mejanhrdina in ./showthread.php?p=19468559&i=i47021969 forum: Birds Superb capture, Dontcry4mejanhrdina!
