DXO just released PureRaw 2.4 that now includes profiles for R6 Mark II.

I've used all sorts of noise reduction programs over 18 years and basically gave up because they make images look fake, mushy and just "not good". LOL.
I found PureRaw in the fall and used it on my old 1D III images and images from other cameras and WOW. This was a game changer for me. Not only did it make images look like they were ISO 200 regardless of how they were shot, it actually added back detail and images looked incredible. I have old stage shots with the 1D III that looked like they were take with a modern mirrorless.

With that said, the R6 II is so clean I've shot at ISO 128000 (posted images here) and haven't really felt the need to use NR on them at all because they are so insanely clean. Probably the only time I'd use it is for low light sports with shallow DOF because the out of focus backgrounds always show some noise (even at low ISOs). I know a few bird photographers that swear by this too. That's actually how I discovered it.

I’m using PureRaw and Topaz Photo AI. I also have the 3 separate Topaz apps. Sometimes PureRaw does the better job and sometimes Photo AI. Photo AI can have sections of weird artifacts sometimes with lots of fur. Its de-blur feature can be handy.

PhotoLab 6 came out in the fall. It has DeepPrime XD. XD stands for extra detail. PureRaw’s annual cycle month is March. In March I figure PR3 will come out with XD.

The more I use it the more I am liking it. From yesterday morning. In the first one you can see both photographers (me and a friend) reflected in the bird's eye. We were that close to this guy!!! Florida scrub jays.

One thing I cannot seem to figure out is when I have 1 point autofocus on I still get a second box. I think I've seen a few others talk about this too. Does anyone know how to make it just select a single point without that extra box?

I think what you're seeing is the grey tracking box. If you turn subject tracking off it will go away. I have a lengthy recent post over on the R7 thread that may be helpful.

I did about 20 over 2 years and me too. Never again.

Yeah not fun!! I'd charge a minimum of $8000 and hire a few assistants if I was forced to do another one!!

Actually it was an interesting experience. A younger fellow at work was into photography who used Canon asked me to shoot his wedding. After refusing multiple times he talked me into it. He eventually became my shooting partner.

About 6 months before I started to study flash photography which turned out to be a benefit. I was never comfortable using a flash. I took a few courses and my guru wound up being Neil van Niekerk. Sometimes you have to shoot without a flash but I came across natural light photographers that refused to use flash. On another forum one person asked for help to process terrible shots from a reception that was in a dark venue. I concluded even if you are a natural light advocate and don't like using a flash it is a pros responsibility to able to use a flash effectively when necessary. I gained a whole new understating of flash photography which I really liked. Hope I don't tick any pros off.

What I found the most difficult was posing people and getting the money shots. I didn't do this every weekend. With like with any profession, repetition becomes second nature. On Thursday/Friday I'd study them and by Saturday there was so much going on it was tough to remember them all. There were distractions, especially shooting a wedding where you knew the people. Then there was the technical part as well. If something went wrong you had to figure it out quickly. I used to look forward to traveling between venues so I could have a few moments to myself.

I knew there was a lot to it but I gained a whole new respect for pros. You don't make the money by just pushing a button.

Yeah it's a fun challenge with low light indoor lighting - I bought into the gary fong marketing and go one of his GIANT flash diffusers...it did the job!

Battery life:

On Sunday morning I went out with a full charge, 70-200 MkIII IS and shot 4k60 video and photos in below freezing temps (-2c) for over 2 hours without ever turning off the camera. 4K60, IBIS, IS all enabled, always on servo and using a combo of the LCD and EVF.

After all that, I was surprised when I got home I still had 55% battery left. I'm super impressed with this considering the size of the battery.

Seems like every new release there are concerns about battery life. They need to be drained and charged a few time.

From what I can tell so far the R6II battery life seems to be longer than my R5. This is a subjective opinion based on prelimiary observations. The battery life on the R5 is the one thing about that camera I don't like. It drains batteries fast (insert metaphor here).....:-D

Hopefully they fix that with the updated R5 coming out later in the year - "allegedly"

I have not had the R6II long enough to realize the difference. If so that is good news. I wonder if lower mp make a difference. Less data to push through.

I don't think I have really but just from the little I have used it I think so. Maybe it's the mp. Not sure why my R5 sucks battery life so fast.
