Jan 22, 2023 16:50 | #54667 Been looking at the pre review for the 20-70 f4 - it looks really really good. Im not in a position to pick up a new lens and I really need to wait for the 16-35GM V2 to come out. If that GM comes out I am probably going to move out the 14/35/85 out of my bag and just go with the 16-35 70-200 200-600 set up with my manual CVs still there for fun. But for today......grrrr would like to try that 20-70....... I haven't had gear salvation for a while but I feel it coming on. Going to try and get to the Grand Canyon this week with all the snow they have I figure I should get some shots of that. The 20-70 looks interesting. What do you not like about the 16-35GM that makes you want a V2? I love mine Sony α7RV | Leica Q2

I love mine nit picky...... but sun stars off it are not near as nice as the 14 or 35 I really thought for landscape I would have one on the A1 and one on the R4 but more and more that 70-200 stays on the A1 even for landscape so now I am just hoping version 2 encapsulates some of the better sun stars from the newer lenses. I am chasing a ghost though..... the only true sunstars I like come from CV lenses. "Vision is the art of seeing that which is invisible"

I love mine The only thing I don't like about the 16-35 GM, is that it doesn't focus as well or sometimes at all in low light...the Batis 18 was an absolute monster in that category...but outside of that, I really like the 16-35... I hope to try and use it in good light this spring for school sports, I have only had a chance to use it indoors where ISO has to be high...it does tend to miss a little more than the 70-200 for sports, but it is so versatile. I won't use it for landscape, the lack of a tripod ring combined with how heavy it is, I don't want to mount it on the body and have it on a tripod. Website
