Nice, very old pub.
Ray is the pub just the bit on the end or also the white weatherboard section to left.
Being so old I wonder what's left inside of originals.
Yes it looks a steep approach in one of those pictures with horses
Wouldn't want a wayward barrel setting loose

If you go back for a pint or more is it possible to reproduce the first photo in your link? Worth a pint, so enjoy it

Funny guy, Eh! I don’t think I can go back far enough to get the picture you want - but I bet the brew would not be to our liking in our modern age.
I will find out next time I am passing about the weatherboarded house, I queried it a few days ago and I have deleted all of the back-up files.
Pin back your ears and I will tell you one of my BS stories about a good friend of mine when he was maintenance man for the area - He was driving his small Morris 8 van up the steep hill behind the pub when a big paper mills articulated vehicle going up the hill in front of him lost an enormous roll of paper. There were many paper manufacturers in the area at that time. These rolls were massive and heavy, they would have flattened a car like a steamroller. This massive roll of paper came down the hill towards him - there was no escape - would he be crushed? (wait for the next exciting episode)
The road was very narrow but just as the roll of paper got within a few yards of his van it bounced over the top of him.
What has that story got to do with pubs - well nothing really but the lorry driver might have had a few drinks before setting out and not secured the load properly.
