Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Some Galahs were feeding high up in the trees at Lee Point Dam tonight. The light wasn't really great but it still gave me a good opportunity to test my new lens :-)

Forrest Kingfisher at Lee Point Dam - another shot from my lens test tonight :-)

Two nice captures! Great color and background on the first one.

If YOU like the photo, that's all that matters!

Both very nicely composed Ulrike.
Enough light to give a very pleasing outcome.
Interesting how both birds are exposed, accentuating the plumage of the birds.
The softer pastels of the galah and the more vivid of the kingfisher.

Thanks, Richard! The Galah was more in light and high in the trees, whereas the kingfisher was amongst the trees. Make a huge difference re lighting and colours :-)

The wrens really are in full view and on display with all their beauty and intrigue.
8 of them flitting about, tumbling over each other and seemingly having a good time. 2 boys and 6 females
I followed them about today and one landed on a dead manfern frond and then the fashion show started.
It wasn't long before another decided to literally crash in on the act and it all started again.
Then they flew off and I glanced sideways and there they all were on the fence.
6 together, but I'd missed my opportunity :-(
More than happy with what I did get
female Superb Fairy Wrens

Jeez.....super super sharp.....Especially the second shot of the chestnut Mannikins !! ..Certainly sharper than I could get on my RF600mm f4 even if I stopped down to f13! ...Looks like this lens is going to be a killer on the sharpness/detail side of things .
