Great shot of the Tawny Owl, Lester! Nicely composed.

This is really a nice capture, Steve! The snow gives it quite an added punch.

Truly a lovely capture of the Hawfinch, Gerd! The lighting is excellent.

Both the Limkin and the Godwit are excellent captures, Kirk! The sharpness is spot on in both shots.

Beautiful shot of the hen mallard, fotoi! Sharpness and detail are so precise.

This shot of the female Northern Harrier is outstanding Tom! What a beauty!

Both captures of the Water Rail are awesome shots, John! Razor sharp!

Ditto for your entire series of bird shots, John!

Lovely capture, Matt! The blue throat and deep blue eyes are captivating.

Dennis, these are both terrific captures! Marvelous close-up shots!

Lovely shot of the Dark-eyed Junco, SYS!

Thanks, Mike ~~

A shot of a well camouflaged limpkin in its habitat among the reeds.

I see. The dam would've been way off to your left after launching and going out a couple hundred yards. If you go again just ask a ranger or employee how to get to where it used to be. Best place in the park for shots of birds and gators. Well, a place called "Deep Hole" is actually better for alligators but it's on the south end of the park (across the street) and it's a 2 mile walk back to it. You can see it on google map. They only allow about 30 people at a time to go see it. I'm not sure if they take reservations for that.

I looked through my pictures but I don't see the dam. Google maps still shows the dam and I remember going there now. There were a lot of different birds there. I've never heard of the Deep Hole part but I'll make a note of it. Thanks.

1. A limpkin in the fg with a tricolored heron in the bg. Unintentional but the pic was tilted and when I leveled it in post it made the frame super tight.
2. Not 100% on the ID but I'm pretty sure it's a juvenile godwit with its white eyebrow and plain tummy.

Two nice captures! Greater Yellowlegs on the second one.

Northern Harrier...

Beautiful Northern Harrier!

Excellent captures! Not sure how secretive Rails are over there, but they are very difficult to see here.

Thanks Sogs, they're very elusive here too. These images only came to fruition after a few hours of hiding out of sight, keeping still, trying not to even breath too heavily, catching glimpses of the bird darting in and out of the cover of the reeds. You know how it is I'm sure.. :)

Here's another..
