The Australian Logrunner is a small, robust, ground-dwelling bird, with a short and sturdy bill. The short wings are rounded. They forage on the forest floor scratching with their large, strong feet through the leaf litter.
Adult Male birds have a grey face and sides, and are white underneath, with the Females having an orange-rufous throat.
This Male posed nicely for me, out in the open, perched on top of a fallen branch. Usually, they are obscured by foliage and fallen branches as they scratch for food on the forest floor, using their broad tail as a prop with its obvious spines at the end.
The Eastern Yellow Robin is in a typical pose, perched on the side of a tree on the look out for insects. They are quite friendly and inquisitive birds and will often flutter down to take a look at you.:-)
Cheers Dennis

Beautiful shot!

Two nice captures! Greater Yellowlegs on the second one.

Nice one!

Nice sharp shot of the Mallard!

Fine capture of the Eagle!

Beautiful Northern Harrier!

Excellent captures! Not sure how secretive Rails are over there, but they are very difficult to see here.

Thank you. sogs.
