In most of those photos, the bird's feathers tend to be a smooth rendering with little actual detail. Yours on the other hand, is incredibly detailed in the feathers and colors. I managed to get close and I think the air was especially clear. Calm, sunny morning after lows around zero (F) and fresh snow on the ground.
