American Oystercatcher - The American Oystercatchers probe sandy and stony areas for clams, oysters, and other mollusks, which they open by cutting or smashing. Much of their day is spent resting in roosts during high tide. They are vigorous, and very loud, during courtship displays, territorial conflicts, and interactions with intruders.

no, jays are corvids,along with crows and magpies. bulbils are not in that family.

Beautiful lapwing/plover. Similar to our masked lapwing/spur-winged plover in Australia, but a little different.

There is one more variant known as red wattled lapwing. They are less in number

This is my favorite of this sequence. Although you can't see the bird so well, his look from behind the foliage engages the viewer more. Very nice.
