Must be the weekend and everyone is out shooting.:-)

Hi there! It is indeed the weekend. I went out for errands but didn't shoot. I always take the camera in hopes of getting something. Got nothing this time. It was raining, which doesn't absolutely exclude shots, just discourages rambling around more than I need to and then taking the time to plan and execute shots while out in the open getting wetter.

Rain does create a challenge, my issue is the sub zero temps we get. I take a camera but it's in the bag and I let it acclimate before it comes out. As long as I do that I never have an issue. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

We had our 4 days of winter. Dallas shut down Monday afternoon and yesterday afternoon was the first it pretty much opened again. Everyone was out shopping today restocking.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

What on earth happened here? Has this thread been resurrected? Speaking of which, where is Ian when you need him to kill a thread?

Sorry, forgot my update. It's summer here but feels like a Melbourne winter. :-|

We moved from California to Arkansas in December of 95. In January, Little Rock was hit with ice and snow. It also shut down. They had no equipment to deal with it, so they too shut everything down. We thought it was sort of odd, both of us being from northern states. The storm wasn't that big of a deal to us, but we did realize why buy gear in a place which may or may not get one bad day a year, if that much. Our house was up on a hill, and there was no salt available since nobody would stock something they can't sell. We parked at the edge of our drive and walked up the lawn. These days, the weather is insane. We go from triple digits in the spring summer months to record breaking negative temps in the winter. Most of my friends who have retired and moved on to Arizona love it where it's hot, but it's a dry heat. Average highs of 105 or more seems unbearable to me. I have no plans to relocate any time soon.

Well, people whose power is off might return when it comes back on, wanting to see what they missed.

I actually should also clean the sensor on my 5DIII and 5D. The 50D looks good.

I check mine quarterly and with the 5DIV, have only cleaned it a couple times. The 7D and 5DII need it more often.

For dishwasher safe camera body cleaning. Just make sure to top off the jetdry in your dishwasher to prevent water spots. I throw a cup of vinegar in as well. Top rack heat dry. Comes out squeaky clean. For lenses, make sure the caps are off, can't believe some folks forget.
