We moved from California to Arkansas in December of 95. In January, Little Rock was hit with ice and snow. It also shut down. They had no equipment to deal with it, so they too shut everything down. We thought it was sort of odd, both of us being from northern states. The storm wasn't that big of a deal to us, but we did realize why buy gear in a place which may or may not get one bad day a year, if that much. Our house was up on a hill, and there was no salt available since nobody would stock something they can't sell. We parked at the edge of our drive and walked up the lawn. These days, the weather is insane. We go from triple digits in the spring summer months to record breaking negative temps in the winter. Most of my friends who have retired and moved on to Arizona love it where it's hot, but it's a dry heat. Average highs of 105 or more seems unbearable to me. I have no plans to relocate any time soon.

Just make sure to top off the jetdry in your dishwasher to prevent water spots. I throw a cup of vinegar in as well. Top rack heat dry. Comes out squeaky clean. For lenses, make sure the caps are off, can't believe some folks forget.
