Interesting. It doesn't specifically say anything is different other than mention of the camera apparently having better thermals to allow longer video and a better sensor. Seems to be mostly identical then? Like they don't mention anything about heatsinks or anything like that.
Now I wonder if they just included in firmware the "high" temp setting that the R5 got. But, where the R6 got hot, some say the R6 II does not (I shot 4K 60 for a couple hours of clips and it never got warm at all though about half of that was outside in -1 temps LOL).

So much for the "fan conspiracy" LOL.

Going to update the firmware today. Anybody else as brave to do it yet? I've always updated firmware on my cameras to the latest over the past 15+ years (and also on most tech I own) and I've never had an issue... famous last words though! :p

I updated a few days ago. No issues.

Not an owner yet. Just ordered it today, but there is no confirmation on when it will ship. Anyone know a rough timeline of when more coming onto the market?

As some background, I have a 5D Mk III that still works, but I have been looking into upgrading for a few features, like a tilt screen (which I used to think was garbage), better focusing, better video, in-body stabilization, smartphone control, faster burst speed, eye tracking, etc. I have the EF lenses that I need (not all that I want!) so I have no desire to switch manufacturers. I don't really need the R5 or R5 Mk II when it supposedly comes out. I am not a pro. I think this camera will be a good fit.

I have figured out what else needs to be upgraded - SD cards, mount adapter, shoe adapter, and remote control cord adapter. Also need a new L bracket. I'm thinking of the Promedia Gear since it allows full articulation of the tilt screen.

I have done a lot of research over the past few weeks, and have answered most of my questions. A couple remain. A lot of reviews rate it highly for most things other than landscape. Why? I used a 40D, 7D Mk II, and the 5D Mk III and got great shots. I usually print stuff that I like at 13 x 19, but I did a 40 x 60 on canvas and I think it is stunning. Are most of the negative reviews just from pixel hogs?

Also, I was wondering what current owners have experienced using higher ISO's. I rarely went over 800 on my 5D. I can't imagine ever needing 100K ISO, but has anyone used something this high?

Hopefully sometime soon I will be able to add some photos to this thread.

That’s the 6D Mk II, not the R6 Mk II.

I'm officially a member of this club!

The local shop posted on Facebook that they finally had very limited stock. I saw the post about 30 minutes after they posted it. Less than an hour later I'd been there, bought it made it back to work.

Yeah with all the back order notices I'm seeing, I figured I better jump on it right away.
