LOL...hope you have better luck with the Mk 1V

The 5DIII is STILL a capable camera, and offers a great bargain as lots of enthusiasts move to R-series bodies. I find there is a perception that when a new body arrives on the scene that suddenly the older ones being superseded are somehow no longer capable and that just isn't so. If a camera was capable of delivering decent images before, it is still able to do so.

I got my 5DIII from new back in about 2013 and must admit I have not used it a huge amount - the shutter count is only 7140 at this time and it is like new - I like to look after my gear. That said I enjoy using it for specific purposes or when I just want a change from my more recent purchases.

While we are in full lockdown, and have been for about 5 weeks, opportunities to go any distance to pursue images are slim, but I get the odd shot in my garden, like this one... Hand-held, available light

I agree. Mark III is a very capable camera.

I used it for 3 years . Now switched over to Mark IV.

Reviving an old thread here...

I purchased a secondhand 5D Mk III today. It has the 24-105 f/4 lens, battery grip, battery and charger. It has 47,217 activations (apparently) and it has been regularly serviced.

Only one problem

It is in New Zealand I and won't be able there until April - I'll be biting my nails until then. It is quite safe - my son has picked it up for me and hidden it in his house (he is a die-hard Nikon man and doesn't want anyone to know he has a Canon in his house!)
