Sometimes it boils down the pushing the editing to ooze out all that detail.

Morning Moon:
Down under in NZ, the days are growing shorter fast now, and as I tend to wake up around 5:00am, it's still quite dark. Still, as the sun lightened the sky the contrast between the black of the universe and the brightness of the full moon diminished and so I just had to go out and take this: Hand-held very minimal PP.

Thank you!

I chose the location of my home for the terrain, geology and the quality of structure and insulation - and these days I am very glad I did so. With yet another tropical storm coming in a few days it looks like this is a new cycle, hopefully one that will not be repeated next year.

My latest moon shot - not too shoddy hand held with no Image Stabilizer and 420mm lens including my TC.

I'm curious what you use for postprocessing? At the moment I am just using the free Canon software, but am wondering if it would be worth moving to something else.

I use Lightroom 5 (I purchased it years ago and still use it for most of my editing) and also use Topaz DeNoise Al for all my de noise work, I open my pic files in Lightroom first do any levels first Whites and Blacks and colour saturation, then I open the file in Topaz do the de noise work then send it back into Lightroom where I do the rest of the editing - cropping and exit to Jpeg sharpening.

Thanks for the information. I've been thinking about Lightroom/Photoshop, but I'm not thrilled about the subscription model.
