Feb 16, 2023 06:35 | #54827 Bill in Texas wrote in post #19480932 Travis, I have actions set up in PS and run the DN as an action with batch processing. Denoise will take over the screen so I move it to a different monitor so I can go on working on something else. It really saves time. After my initial work in LR, I go to PS. Certain shots get individual treatment. That's actually a really good idea. I need to get this set-up, so I can run the action via PS. For things like wedding receptions I'll have big batches shot at high ISO that I've never felt were worth running through DN. But if I can set it and walk away even if it has to run overnight....its a win. focalpointsphoto.com

Turns out Tamron Aus honors overseas warranties and I can get the lens around $1200-$1400 AUD in Tokyo depending on exchange rate compared to $1750 at the cheapest here in Sydney so I’d say it’s definitely worth waiting Sony Alpha A7 Mark IV - Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G - Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM - Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DN Art - Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro - Sigma 50mm f/2 DG DN

I've rented one for a wedding last year and rented it again for Disney. I'm going to buy one this year. It's a big lens, but a true jack of all trades unless for the more "normal" focal lengths. Nice rendering and bokeh on the wide end...tack sharp on the long end. And focuses pretty quick to boot. focalpointsphoto.com

I had my 35GM on and was taking photos of the kids at f/1.4 and the eye lashes were tack sharp as always. I then switched to the 35-150 and done the same at 35mm f/2 and the lashes were noticeably not as sharp. I wasn’t sure if that’s what is to be expected with a super zoom vs a prime? It wasn’t the best light though so going to test today in better light. The lens seems super sharp stopped down a bit Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

I don't see the lens as a replacement for primes from the perspective of being so critically sharp at 35 F1.4, 85 f1.4, 135 f2. The separation you get from primes at these focal lengths isn't something you're gonna get from the 35-150. I want it mostly as an event lens, as the focal range eliminates the need for a second body or lens swapping in all but very specialized situations. But for portrait shoots and what-not, it's not going to replace 35mm-85mm combo. For travel, I'm kind of mixed on the lens because its so large and something wider would be more useful. Well transpires it was user error. Went out today shooting landscapes with the odd portrait flung in and this lens was absolutely stellar. It’s weird having a single lens that goes from 35 to telephoto. Loving it so far Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

Yeah it won't replace other gear, for me it is really only for shooting sports where I don't want to mess with changing lenses...when I change lenses I get better images though...its an ok lens but it is a monster, it is really heavy and it feels front heavy.
