Deep down in a squash blossom if I recall right, I found this squash bee, and a mating pair of potato bugs.

I don’t know the species of either of these small wasp. The second one was taken at night on a neighbor’s succulent plant that only blooms at night, then the blossom wilts at daybreak. I think most wasp sleep at night, but apparently not all do.

Here is another of the second from above, showing more of the flower.
I don’t know where this plant is indigenous to, nor who it’s intended pollinator is, whether bat or moth. I was hoping to catch a moth hovering at the mouth, with its long proboscis reaching back in there. However, I probably would have missed it, since I was lighting this with my LED flashlight held under to get light deep inside.

I had to wade out into a pond to be among the lotus blossoms for the first shot of honey bees.

And the next shot of the Carpenter bee was in a community garden. I don’t know if it was sleeping, or dying. I’ve never seen a healthy one being so still as this one,

An unidentified tiny bee. This little thing was shot at 5x and was maybe 3mm in length but curled up like this about the size of the point of a ballpoint pen.
