I have an EF-S 10-22, and it is the single worst hot spotting lens I own, when used on my IR converted SL1 body, and yet is totally fine on my conventional SL1. For wide IR I use the SL-1 kit lens, the plastic cheapo EF-S 18-55 Mk II at 18mm. It is very good in IR, but just OK with conventional photography. The best IR lens in my kit, again a cheap model, is the 24mm EF-S pancake.

I'm not saying the 10-22 may have caused the odd coloring or hot spotting alone in your images; and I must agree with you that the light was probably just at an oddball angle at the time, or your angle to it was peculiar. Though it could also be a combo of both?

Transitioning back to an M6 after shooting with Fuji. I was just having too many issues with hotspots with the Fuji zoom lenses. I have had no issues at all with the Canon lenses.

ef-m 15-45mm, 22mm, 55-200mm, ef-s 10-18mm

The 10-18mm has soft edges at 10mm. I don't think there's an UWA lense that doesn't have soft edges.

Anyways, here are a couple of images shot with an external 590nm filter on my full spectrum EOS M6. I converted one to B&W and not the other one.

Yeah, the Fuji lenses are definitely bad with hot spots. Basically the only XF lens I have that I can use for IR is my 35/1.4, but that will hotspot past f8. I pretty much exclusively use manual Chinese lenses (which are surprisingly good) or vintage lenses.

Good to know that the EOS M line is good for IR... I've definitely considered adding one of those to my collection simply because it seems there are a disproportionate amount of cheap converted EOS M bodies out there.

One from my TTArtisan 17mm and 25A filter.

Another good outing with the M6 this afternoon. The first one was shot at 590nm and converted to B&W while the second one I left as color 590nm.

What would make someone get up at 4:50AM (on the day we lose an hour of sleep anyway) to shoot the Milky Way? How about to catch the ISS transiting through the center core?

EOS R full spectrum modified, 9 exposures and blended in Sequator with black files.

I shoot Nikon and find my older AF-D lenses and cheapie Quantaray (remember those?) lenses work far better in IR than newer lenses.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

The M6 and 22mm have been working quite well for me for IR. I did finally get a 590nm filter for my 15-45mm, so I'm going to compare the two and see how they look. These were both shot with the 22mm and 590nm filter and converted to B&W using Silver Efex Pro 2.

We had some really interesting weather roll through today. It wasn't isolated either, it was happening pretty much all afternoon into the evening.

I got out and took some shots today despite the high winds.

590nm, SilverEfexPro2 B&W conversions.

Also, for whatever reason, I've had to set my M6 to -2 EC and leave it there. Not sure if that's normal but any higher and I start blowing out highlights.

I love this local pond with the evening light. I left the foliage as color to provide some separation from the sky.
