Yes it was, the crust on top of the snow made it impossible to move quietly so I’m sure he was instantly aware of me. At one point it puffed right up to scare me off so I let it be, but unfortunately the trail passed close to it’s tree otherwise I would have had to crawl through brush where a rabbit wouldn’t go to get by it. This shot I took as I was passing, I think it was it’s “that’s right, you better move on” look. It was in incredible experience but I really didn’t want to cause it any stress.
