Wanted to keep trying and did more testing with the 80d and 300mm f/4L is, this time tried to make the AF a little more "sticky" and just used one shot. Still got mostly misses and I don't think the mor sticky AF focus worked in one shot?

Anyway, while it's more of a snapshot, (clutter and poor composition, birds face pretty obstructed, bad angle etc) it is at least a new birdy for me... :-)
