Hi, I'm a full-time professional photographer. Which actually meant I don't get to photograph what I want, how I want or where I want most of the time

But I have just started a personal project - creating a portfolio of the London Comedy Circuit. Hoping to create a photobook with the results, any comments advice would be very welcome.

Hi everybody.
Thought i'd get the thread back upto date lol.
I'm a newbie to both the forum and photograhy. Im in the UK and like to visit the Military Air Bases. Im an Aerospace Engineer by trade, of 25 or so year and have worked on some military stuff, such as Chinook, Eurofighter, the late great RAF Tornado and im sure theres more, i just cant think. Plus civilians jet engine components. I use to take a few photos years ago with a pentax 35mm, but now im using digital. I have a Canon 50d with a tamron 70 x 300mm and a sigma 400 aswell as Sony A350 with a 70 x 300mm lens. ( i know, only a cheap set ups but before i spend mega bucks i want to get the basics right). Im getting some half decent pictures, especially when on auto, and some good ones on manual, but im also getting lots of bad ones, i understand not every shot is going to be 100% bit its frustrating when you spend alday snapping away and they look good when you look back at them on the camera but not so good when you get them up on the laptop, and especially not good when you get tyem up on a 65" tv. Ive yet got to master to get the sharpness right. I can't tell you what settings i use as im always altering them. Hopefully when im on my laptop i can post a few pictures up in the pictures threads. But any tips/ advice would be great. Mostly its fast moving jets at a few 100ft and i prefer to pan to get my pix.

Hi Badds and welcome!

There are lots of airshow and military photographers here, mostly hanging in Transportation forum https://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=37

Threads there are full of wonderful photos, and the good thing is that most of them have shooting info, like https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=19113353&i=i170778922 which may be helpful in deducting how the shot was taken. Start a thread about techniques and tips of ask for advice and chat in any thread you like.

Best thing about digital is that you can try and try again until you are happy as long as the subject is there. :)

Transportation has a gallery in https://photography-on-the.net/forum/gallery.php?f=37
