Exactly. And it does make sense to do that..
- You crank up the ISO.
- You crank up the shutter speed.
- You crank up how much the Aperture blades should close.

OMG, I was today years old when I learned the simplicity and genius of this!

Changing the settings on my bodies now.

It's been ages since I have posted anything here. I was keeping an eye on this Kingfisher and hoping to grab some shots when he was heading for a meal. Unfortunately, he took off in the opposite direction and the end of his dive and him coming back up was blocked by the growth. A bit of cropping on these. Fortunately, did get him bringing his reward back to the perch!

Great sequence. I’ve only had one chance on a Kingfisher, they seem very skittish and don’t stick in one place too long

I have been off the forum since August of last year. Lots of stuff going on in "life", but time to get back into it.

Just now getting a chance to go through shots from a trip to Moab last September, here is the Colorado River using the R7 Pano mode.

But if you change nothing, that is how it already works? You don’t have to change anything, except the way you think. :-)

Thanks for looking and commenting. At this spot I was going to, they didn't seem to pay me much attention. Had a few good chances to shoot them just hanging out. The action sequence was more difficult!
Welcome back from the hiatus. I am pretty much back after a long layoff myself. Just too much work and life events going on. Retirement is less than a year away so hopefully that brings more opportunity! :-)

some shots from the Texas Motorplex. Taken from the stands.
the RF24-105 did a great job, the EF100-400 mk2 was a little overkill. I think the RF70-200 could be an additonal tool in the future. While there were a lot of people with media pass, about 3 hours in I saw a lot of people without media pass track side. Next time I'm going to try that.
I turned off focus tracking, Manual mode. 1/2000+ for the majority of shots. the panning shots at 1/125 were not that good, I need more practice. but I did get some good frames.
I started with highspeed+ in elect shutter and rolling shutter is a thing. I switched to mech shutter and the 15fps did well enough. you can tell the difference in the vertical lines.

can't wait to try this again, it was fun and my first time at a race. I don't know the drivers or teams. But it was very impressive from a technical/speed view.

Nice start, panning takes a lot of practice.

Great shot! And perfect exposure. The detail in the whites is spot-on!
