I missed getting down to Frogwarts the weekend of April 1-2 because a tornado tore a path across Little Rock AR. While I watched it from a high-rise condo with a friend who’s mom was at home in the path. It turned out that she, 95yo, is so hard of hearing, she didn’t even know that a neighbor’s gable landed on her roof without her even knowing what was happening outside.
However I also have family with properties in the same neighborhood who were not at home, so I took it upon myself to go check on those two houses. I keep a good chainsaw in my truck, so when I got to where the streets were blocked with trees, and a gathering crowd of people wanting to get down into that neighborhood to see if they still had a roof or house for the evening, I started sawing. Three hours later, with many of them helping by pulling away the branches as fast as I could saw, we broke through the other side, to find our properties were untouched. Then I started helping friends with roof repairs.
Finally back down and out on the trail I found a few things. The first is a Wavy Emerald moth; Synchlora iridaria, on American Hornbeam leaf.
