They don't look as if they can make it through tighter turns, do they? At 132 feet long they wouldn't normally be able to, but the underside is articulated with both sets of wheels swiveling independently.

Heading back to Rockland Maine. Since there is no turntable or wye in Brunswick, the engine just drops off the outbound cars, backs up and connects to the inbound string and takes it back in long hood fwd mode. It makes no difference to the locomotive as electric motors don't care which direction they spin, it's just a bit harder of the engineer to see.

Depending on how the locomotive was ordered and what style it is, they're sometimes set up to run in either direction with nothing needed but to sit on the other side of the cab

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed

Isnt that the paint scheme for the old New York Central colors? My father hired in to work in 1935 for The New York Central RR then retired in 1975 from Penn Central after the merger of Pennsylvania and NYC

Yes, the Finger Lakes uses the old NYC sheme as they are running (In New York, not Maine), on the old NYC line.

Midcoast Railservice is the division of the Fingerlakes that operates the old Maine Central Rockland branch between Rockland and Brunswick Maine. They have two locomotives out here and are lettered for it.

On vacation this week, I've spent quite a bit of it taking photos of trains if the weather's been cooperating.

BNSF going through Marietta, OK. Believe it or not, this photo was taken on Kentmere 100 B&W film and developed in XTOL. I have no idea where the color came from. All the other negatives are plain old B&W.
