Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is A Touch of Blue. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us just a touch of Blue

Here are the rules:
1. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives.

2. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you).
3. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
4. Post your shots at any time during the week.
5. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules.
As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Just the one for me at the moment - maybe another one later as I travel. We have a touch of blue here after a couple of days of horrible weather. This is the first picture taken on the 1D3 in about 5 years. Dusting off some cobwebs...

Thanks for identifying the blueberry. I couldn't figure out what it was, a glass ornament or something.

Part 859 - A Touch of Blue

Show us just a touch of Blue
.

.
Last week, I set my personal goal for this week - to research Blue Spotted Salamanders, find one, and photograph it.

Hence, imagine my pleasant surprise when I saw that Joayne made "a touch of blue" this week's theme!

I have done the research and that has led me to a location just a two hour's drive from where I am staying. . And the weather looks good for this afternoon and evening. . So I will be heading up to the New Jersey / New York border to search for Blue-spotted Salamanders this afternoon! . And if successful, I will have something to contribute to this thread, as the spots on the flanks of this species are most certainly "just a touch of blue" on their otherwise black body.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

.
Well, this past weekend I made two trips up to the NJ / NY border, and finally found a couple of the Blue-spotted Salamanders that I've been wanting to shoot. . But the two I found were both very small juveniles, and I have trouble photographing such tiny things effectively. .So the photos are not of the caliber that I had wanted, but at least they show the blue spots. . I will head back up there as time allows, in hopes of finding a much larger adult that I can shoot.
