Though we had a bottle of this. I can't fathom how old and poisonous it was.

Callie has her post-adoption vet appointment today. I clipped all but 2 nails, so I'm sure those will be used to sever my arteries when I put her in the carrier. I'm O+ if anyone cares to donate... Just tossing that out there. TIA (Thanks In Advance for Inspeqtor) ;-)a

These last few posts explain so much. Mercury poisoning is for life. ;):)

There's a reason the phrase "Mad as a Mercurochrome recipient" exists.

We have a bottle of mercury in back of our shop, probably 5#'s worth.

I don't own the triangle can opener to open that thing anymore. Maybe TMI, but that stuff put me in the bathroom every time. Perhaps I was a delicate child.

....where you would drink the Mercurochrome from the medicine cabinet. That was the real issue.

But who didn't like the smell of Prell®???

As a kid in the 60's I remember having a bottle of merthiolate in the bathrooom cabinet for many different ailments a person would have to use this product for.

I googled this and found you can still buy it today (external link)!!

Yeah, the mercury free version, where's the danger in that. The new stuff is for the bike helmet and seatbelt generation.

Thought of the day. Why are elephants, manatees and humans the only animals with chins?

Cat are the cat folks using for food?? I have been using this fancy feast® for years. But pandemic timeframe it became increasingly hard to find, so I would always buy what I could get. But I noticed our Persian just looks like an alley cat since his lion cut. His coat is usually very soft and looks well groomed. The last couple months he looks horrible, almost sick. After doing research it sounds like the cat food has been sourced from other countries and is lacking proteins and other vital ingredients. Went yesterday to the local pet store and bought US sourced food. It's 4 times more expensive at about $3+ / per can. Hope to see a difference.

I feed mine dry food. Purina Gentle in the purple bag. Easy on the belly. I've fed this to many of my cats without any issues. I do have a couple cans like you have for treats, but those are for holidays or for after vet appointments (today)
