That lighting would test any metering system ever made. How many stops between the distant building and the foreground cars? Excellent photo.

Thanks, Terry. In eyeball terms, maybe 10-15 stops. I don't know how many of those the iPhone manages to claw back using its magic. But the Hipstamatic app might not use the iPhone's magic, so who knows?!

Maybe Apple needs to get with Canon and share their "magic" so us mere mortals have a shot.

I'm sure computational photography will come to DSLRs and other cameras eventually, along with (probably expensive) processor upgrades to make it possible. For anyone who's interested in how the 'magic' works, there's a good (simple) explanation here (external link).

Thanks, this is one of the hundreds of semi wild cats on Adalar island, Turkey. Most live outside but the residents and some visitors give them food. The cats repay this by being friendly and posing for photographs!

This bag has been hanging in this hedge for weeks. In fairly good condition, too. :-)

You have a good eye, ya' do.
In the second photo, the tiny sheep adds whimsy to an already interesting photo.

Thank you very much for that. I was down there again today, and the shopping bag is still hanging there. Might even make a decent camera bag? No, I think not. :-)

That photo bamboozled me for a minute- Then I realized it was an alien space ship making a water landing.
