How many of your neighbors come and check out your setups? Very cool!!

Thanks Charles... its been several years in the making.

In answer to your question, my neighbors are used to me doing this so don't often drop by, but, my little dead end street also has the access to a popular biking and walking trail and I get quite a few people stop with questions and have a look through one of my scopes if I am setup for viewing. I have a third smaller manual setup for viewing only that is portable and I sometimes set that up as well.

Got a note saying my account was dormant and would be deleted.... figured I should post something! It indeed has been a while! haha
Weather sucky since last summer. Had two or three sessions this year so far. Here are a couple from my best of them for my attempts at colour - January 29th.

First the full colour disc. Lunar nuts please make sure to click the link under pic to view full size of about 7000 X 5000 pixels.

100% crop that should display fully

And the same area from my twice the aperture C11. Does not really show much more detail as the seeing did not support it.

Clear skies!!

44 hour old moon, about an hour after sunset.

I wasn't able to get out yesterday night to try and see the 20 hour old one described in S&T (external link).

Very nice! These thin ones are always fun to go for. Great result. Nothing but clouds here seemingly forever. Hoping May is better.

Clear skies!

Thanks. I like your Seven Sisters shot, with the Earthshine. I wasn't using a tracking mount so I didn't try any exposures long enough to capture that.

I was driving last night around 10pm and watching the moon and venus, here in the California Desert. It made me stop and realize, the crescent is in the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere  Nice image you've made.

Thanks, Joayne. Yes, and if you look at the features on the Moon, it is "upside down" in the Northern Hemisphere relative to the South :)
