May 01, 2023 10:14 | #18 Consider the Sigma 100-400. Last summer I went on a photography walk with, among other things, my Sigma 100-400 and Canon 80D. I cropped the image above heavily - 2.5x, giving me an effective 1000mm. I find the result acceptable. A few of my fellow photographers had the Sigma 150-600 and the difference in size and weight were quite noticeable. I was glad I didn't have to carry that extra weight. Canon 80D, 60D, Canon 10-22EFs, 15-85EFS IS, Sigma 100-400, Sigma 135/1.8ART, Sigma 30mm f/1.4DC, Canon 60mm EFs Macro, Rokinon 8mm fisheye, 550EX flash, Olympus TG6 underwater P&S

ScottM Goldmember More info | May 02, 2023 19:13 | #19 I have been to Alaska a couple of times. The last time (back in 2014), I took the EF 100-400L along with a Canon 7D. I also had a 5D3, 24-105L and 16-35 f/4 L for landscapes. I found the 100-400L more than adequate on the crop body 7D.
