Milkyway nightscapes

First trip out this year to try some night photography. Struggled with a camera that would not stay attached to my tripod due to damaged tripod thread on my camera but at least managed to get some photos so was worth getting up at 1.20am to venture out Location is Beer beach in Devon (England, UK)

Very nice. Somewhere I want to get to this year along this section of coast. Finished with the eastern end of Dorset now!

Yeah worth a trip for sure. Even better when the boats are lined up nicely and less clutter around but I am sure the fishermen don’t consider us photographers

You may have to use your imagination to see any Milky Way in this one.

Thank you Lee! Yes I would recommend it. Be aware there is a bright light that shines onto the beach but that can work for lighting up the boats. I will definitely be back again soon to try and improve and hopefully have my camera fixed so the camera stops falling off the tripod

Hay's Landing, Lake Wivenhoe, 15th April 2023.

It's been a while since I did a Milky Way panorama, but the galactic core will soon be visible again in the evening sky, so I decided to get a bit of practice last night. This panorama is made up of about 70 overlapping images, each a 15 sec exposure with my EOS R and Samyang 24mm f/1.4 lens at f/2.2 and 3200 iso. Stitching was done using Image Composite Editor.

I had a few issues along the way, and the result is far from perfect... but it was fun to be out under the stars again!
And as a bonus I spotted a beautiful little Brush-tailed Phascogale on the way back to the car

Great work, and I especially like that you didn't crush the stars with clarity in PP.
Shots like yours inspired me to finally purchase a pano head, Nodal Ninja. Looking forward to giving it a run.
