male Superb Fairy Wren showing the sheer brilliance of its plumage whilst in non breeding form.
The blue tail feathers were particularly radiant in this bird and it was fascinating to watch it sitting astride the dried dock flicking its tail and catching the light.
Might need to zoom in to see it in its fullness
