Peek-a-boo!

 Yeah, the Easterns weren’t very cooperative, but they were the only ones I’ve had a chance to photograph. I see lots of Spotteds around here.

Male and Female Regent Bowerbirds, taken last week in the Lamington National Park.

The male can often be seen as a golden yellow dart flitting through the canopy in search of fruit.:-)

One of the local Rangers suggested that the Female plumage is more drab, so she is less conspicuous when sitting on the nest.

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Ray

Yes, it is quite dark in the rainforest, especially during our winter down under.:-)

Canon DPP show -1 stop for the female and -1 2/3 stops for the male.

Cheers

Dennis

Thank you, Dennis. The flash has certainly lifted the bird from the background.

No, no, you got that wrong, Mike; the birds around our coastal areas use mobile toilets - the roofs of visitors cars - and often mine!-? Although I escaped with just a smattering from a high altitude on this occasion.:-)

Not you, but some humans deserve it. I got cut off twice yesterday while driving to work. I so wanted to go into "Mad Max" mode and poop on their cars myself. Ha!

Further, Mike - Gulls have their own hierarchy - and are sometimes a bit delusional. For instance - This pompous looking fellow is suffering from delusions of grandeur - He thinks he is the harbour master!

Bath time

Nice rub-a-dub shot, Mike. They sure do clean up with a fury!
