Nice capture of the Forest Raven, Richard! You got good sharpness and detail out of the black color...not an easy task.

many thanks Mike for your kind comments.
Yes they can be frustrating to capture in an attractive way

female Superb Fairy Wren in a typical setting where she blends in with the surrounds.
Often the only sign of them in such conditions is the constant bobbing/ wagging of their upright tails

In the field guides I started birding with 45 years ago these were all Rufous-sided Towhees. Got the Easterns on strip to Indiana in April, and the Spotted shortly after I got back home.

Nice shots! I know. It keeps changing. Modern science, DNA, eBird etc. all help in categorizing and adding/removing sub/new species.

Male and Female Regent Bowerbirds, taken last week in the Lamington National Park.

The male can often be seen as a golden yellow dart flitting through the canopy in search of fruit.:-)

One of the local Rangers suggested that the Female plumage is more drab, so she is less conspicuous when sitting on the nest.

Cheers

Dennis

Great captures!

Nice one!
