This is a very cooperative male King Parrot taken in the Lamington National Park, who posed quite nicely for me.

#2 is a full res 1600x1600 crop, astonishing detail for ISO3200 and the low light conditions at the time.

I used a Camera mounted Speedlite EL-1 with -2 Stops FEC ETTL II.

Cheers

Dennis

One of the local Rangers suggested that the Female plumage is more drab, so she is less conspicuous when sitting on the nest.

Nice shots! I know. It keeps changing. Modern science, DNA, eBird etc. all help in categorizing and adding/removing sub/new species.

Great captures!

Nice one!

Great details!

Fine capture!

Super capture!

He does blend in well. Nice one!

Thanks, sogs.

Wonderful captures of both the male and the female Regent Bowerbirds, Dennis! The male is truly a beauty. This is a new species to me.

Nice capture of the Forest Raven, Richard! You got good sharpness and detail out of the black color...not an easy task.

Incredibly nice capture of the Carolina Wren, Bill!

Wow, Jimmy...what an exceptionally great shot of this drake Gambel's Quail!

Excellent portrait shot of the Double-crested Cormorant, Kirk! Very appealing shot!

This is an exceptionally nice capture of the Barred Owl, Joe! Perfect shot!

Super nice close-up shots of the Yellow-crowned Night Heron chick, Ed! Very sharp images!

Gorgeous shot of the Yellow Warbler, Jose! Their brilliant yellow color is truly stunning.

Thanks, Mike.
