Brown Falcon ~ Falco berigora
an awesome encounter with this one today.
I was driving along our driveway and saw a commotion in the adjacent paddock
This falcon and about 10 magpies were having a standoff.
It went on for about 10 minutes then the magpies sent it packing in full chase

Here we have the Red-browed Finch, often seen foraging for grass seeds on the ground, usually in flocks of up to ten birds and sometimes more.

It has bright red eyebrow, rump and beak with olive green upperparts and grey underneath. They will fly into dense undergrowth when disturbed by a passer-by. Red-browed Finches may also be called Red-browed Firetails.

Taken in the Lamington National Park.

I may have posted this photo of a female Shining Flycatcher before; I took it a year or so ago. But I'm holed up in Sydney with covid and a laptop with no photos on it. I found this raw in my Dropbox, so was able to process it again from scratch while having a play with AI Denoise and Generative Fill.
