Becherovka is a Czech herbal liqueur, produced in Karlovy Vary from more than twenty types of herbs and spices and contains no chemical additives. It is sometimes called "the thirteenth spring of Karlovy Vary".

The production recipe is known only to two people in the company, the production manager and the production director. They are contractually bound by this secret for life and cannot, for example, travel together. It is rumoured that not all the raw materials are ordered at once and that, in addition, some herbs and spices are taken which do not belong in the liqueur at all.
