Nice sharp close-up of the Corn Snake, Paul! Apparently they make good pets.

Richard, what are all the white bodyguards called? I'm guessing they are Cattle Egrets. The cattle must provide them with lots of tasty meals.

They look a lot like our USA cattle egrets. These birds are ubiquitous in Florida with or without cattle. The cattle Stir up small insects, and other critters which the birds eat. We find them everywhere here, including on the front lawns and on the islands in the middle of our roadways looking for tidbits to eat. And they aren’t really very shy here. I guess they’re used to being around civilization.

When they are in breeding plumage and color they are spectacular looking. The rest of the year they’re pretty ordinary looking.

They're the same species. They've colonised everywhere cattle have been taken. One of the most successful bird species ever.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Really great portrait shot of the Silver Gull, Richard! That beautiful white color makes them look like they went thru a bleach rinse after their last bath. :p
