i think it shows a life of hard times. the mom(?) looks like she's labored hard taking care of the family. dad (?) looks tired. has he worked for 50 years putting bread on the table? they look older than they should for a son (?) his age. maybe its their grandson...

its a bit sad to me but im glad theyre together if they ARE a family...

Good point about being together. They may just be reacting to something unpleasant to the left, out of frame.

The sculpture of St. Salvator, Cosmas and Damian, which is located on the Charles Bridge, was created in 1709 by the Baroque sculptor Jan Oldřich Mayer. You will see Jesus Christ, the symbol of victory over death, flanked by a pair of saints. They are dressed in the robes of the University of Prague, holding jars of medicine. Saints Cosmas and Damian are the patrons of doctors, orphanages and nursing homes.
