Selfie I took 50 years ago while I was training to become an electrician. My friend and colleague, Dave, in the background.
B&W photo colorised.

this image makes it look smaller than I'd imagined.

That's what I thought too. But I was there as a teen, and it also looked smaller in person. There are houses in my town that are this size, as private residences. Yesterday's big is now normal. Big is different today, which has somehow become even bigger.

Part of the apparent size may be lens compression and the fact that the workers are much closer to the camera than the WH. Here's another shot with folks by it for scale. Note the guard dressed in all-black standing in front of the window.

It isn't any smaller when it is upside-down either.

Wisconsin Dells back in 2012. It was still there a week ago, but now has large Transformers guarding it. I should have taken an updated photo, since some portions of the upside down White House has changed slightly. I didn't understand why Transformers (they were like, 15 feet high) were placed around the perimeter, but then again, its The Dells. :-P

I'd never noticed the strange trim molding above the ground floor windows before. It alternates between a rounded and pointed top on the moldings. Intentional for sure, but I wonder if it has any other significance?

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.
