You've done a hero's job Pekka. Much appreciated. The secret of happiness is to know you've done something worth while, and not even AI can take that away from you. Your new adventures are waiting for you. Happy sailing!

I don't know anything. But I know other things.

I'll be sorry when POTN is no longer, but you have my deepest admiration and respect
for having created and maintained this community for so long.

There are many photographers here that I admire and respect, and I will sorely miss
the privelege of seeing their works so graciously shared to all of us.

I wish you nothing but good fortune for whatever your future holds, Pekka.
You are a shining star.

Craig
Of course I'm all right! Why? What have you heard?!?

Sad but understandable. Thanks for all the hard work and for providing such a great avenue for us to express our love of photography all these years.

Hello Pekka

Whilst this is unwelcome news, it is not unexpected and I will be sorry to see the end of POTN.

I marvel at your Herculean efforts and dedication in serving the photography community, so well for so long, and wish you all the best for the new life that lies ahead, you richly deserve it.:-)

Be well.

Dennis

Wow, this has been my greatest source of learning and having my questions answered, often without having to ask them. It's also been a good place to see what other really great photographers have been doing. I will miss it as I'm sure many others will. Thank you for what you have done here and I wish you all the best.

Ty so much I have learned a lot here from you and countless others who have helped me from being a noob to pretty good.
Its people like you who make this world a better place. We need many more like you. This has been my go to place for a long time for info, education, and enlightenment. You and all of the wonderful members here have provided me with those things many times over. I have recommended PPTN to many because it was one of the few places people could actually learn and people wouldnt muck it up. TY so much for all your time serving all of us here. I will miss this place. But rest assured I and many others are better because of you and this place you created. To me that is the legacy of your time and hard work. You made people better. And in this crazy world that is truly as big of a blessing as you can get. To be of service to your fellow man/woman is a great legacy and truly appreciated by me and ALL the members here. This reminds me of a quote.

Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.

ty so much

Pekka,

The friendliness and comfort of this site has been unparalleled in my experience, and that experience started with bulletin boards and newsgroups 'way back when.

I will miss this place and have fond nostalgia for it.

Cheers, always.

Pekka, this will leave a big hole in my daily life. I don't do social media and can't think of anything that could replace POTN. Your generosity is appreciated, by me and many others, in giving your time and knowledge for the benefit of all who photograph. Thanks also to those who served as mods at various times in POTN's tenure and to members who helped to educate me.

Perhaps someone will step forward with a subscription plan model in order to maintain the site. I am willing to pay on a regular basis to keep the site going.

I too would pay.

Many thanks Pekka for your commitment to this forum.
I've learnt a lot here and admired many photographers along with their skills.

What I’ll forever remember too is the depth of the software that runs this site. It's amazing.

Thanks again and all the best for your next ventures in life. :-)

My feelings have been expressed by the posters before me... (yes, I read them all!... :p0 ...). I feel like I am leaving home

Thank you for all the wonderful material I've seen which made me a better photographer.

Pekka, while I'm a relative newcomer (just a month shy of 3 years), I would like to echo the sentiment expressed by many. This has been a unique place to share in the joy of photography. It will be missed.

Thank you for all your efforts and best of luck in your future endeavors.

Thank you Pekka! I have been absent for sometime and have recently started coming back around to photography/videography. I have met so many incredible people on this site. I still miss the old site btw ;)

Anyways... Thank you for the incredible 13+ years of learning and posting.
