Quick 'stomp' around Lee Valley Country Park this morning - not a lot of activity but happy with a few I got. Put the 2x extender on from the start and my personal opinion - YES it really does work surprising well.

Testing birds in flight and against busy backgrounds to see how the 2x worked - can say it's a LOT better than I was expecting.

Yep. That was my impression as well. It does amazingly well with the 2xTC on the R3. On the R6 II as well. It does well, but not as well, on the R5 and struggles a bit on the R7. That has been my experience so far with the 2xTC.

Still going through the shots but quite like this one. (no doubt will add a few more later)
started the day with no extender - little too short for some areas (this particular one was really close so 140mm) so popped the 1.4 on and think I have found my new race set up - oh and weird thing, lot more keepers with the monopod and stabilisation turned off.

Not a great shot BUT what really impressed me was the fact looking with the naked eye I genuinely couldn't see a thing - the sun was super bright and low, only by looking through the view finder could I see anything so nice surprise to get this R3, RF100-300 + 1.4 ex monopod IS off
