Anyway an attempted wildlife image

I have Two of them!

I first bought one and loved it. Then the R5 came along and I bought one of those. Figuring I didn't need the R as it was, I sent it away and had a full spectrum IR conversion done. It didn't take long to realize I really missed the normal R, I bought another one.

My gear now consists of the R5, the R normal, the R/IR mod, and the trusty 5D MkII.

I find mostly going out to shoot with the R5 and a telephoto, the regular R with either the 24-70 or the 16-35EF and adapter. Some sunny days I use the IR mod camera with one of my filters on it.

I wonder if it's my perception that's "off"? On the back of the camera photo actually looked sharp, the deer seemed to be sharp and what I'd expect but loaded up the jpg on my phone via canon connect app (old version as I'm not paying for features), I brought the reduced sized jpg over and it didn't look right, like the camera missed focus (either front or back) it's like subjects at a distance don't focus well.

My bird photography is like this too, but the 5dmkiv seems to do better?

I don't really have a digital dark room anymore so been doing the whole eos r then pulling the jpg and snapseed for mild edits (either one click and crop) or slight curves adjustment here and no crop.

Does the image and subject look sharp and in focus here? Doesn't appear to be on my phone.

from what I see, the deer is in the middle of the sharp depth of field (ranging from the stack of branches in the foreground, to the darker colored brush in the background.

If you post the RAW in a file transfer site, I can take a closer look.
