sings "My green heron"

After a week of rain, all this beautiful Canadian air rushed south and left us with the best conditions for fall photography.

Had both the Rebel and the 20D with, the 100 macro with a CP on the rebel and my buddy, the 100-400 on the 20D.

He was just hanging out, so I finally got my shot of a green heron.

These birds are normally so skiddish. I've never gotten close enough to get a decent shot.

Thank everyone! I've never been closer than 50 yards and then off they go. One thing I learned from everyone here is to keep trying.

As I mentioned before, we had a major rookery fail in this area a few years back. Nice to see it on the mend and the birds returning.

Looks like you had to deal with harsh lighting, but well done. Great separation between foreground and background.
