I had gotten out of photography, becoming a voyeur of life. That was over ten years ago when I put my N*kon F3 down.

Flash forward to last year, a friend of mine wanted me to take a photo of he and his wife with his 350D at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. As soon as I looked through the viewfinder, I was hooked.

Com'on Sunday!

Does anyone know if you need to purchase both items at the same time and from the same retailer. I was looking at a great price on a 30D from Dell, but they do not sell lenses. I also want to pick up the 70-200 f4 from someone. I'm open to suggestions on that as I'm new to all of this.

A friend of mine did the same thing with me about 7 years ago at the Long Beach Grand Prix. He brought his Rebel film camera and I carried it around one day. I was instantly hooked. I was shooting with an old Rollie 35mm with a 50mm and a 200mm lens at the time. The combination was quite heavy and, of course, entirely manual so I'd only get one chance at a shot.

I bought an Elan 7 and gradually bought some decent lenses for it then made the leap into digital SLR about 2 years ago. I'm definitely getting the 30D on Sunday.

If like before, you don't need to purchase at the same time, but must purchase both during the rebate period. I would submit the rebate after all items are purchased.

You guys see this? Canadian rebate announced...
http://www.canon.ca …ew/pdf/SLR_Rebate_Web.pdf (external link)

I already spent my big bucks on the 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM and EF-S 17-55 F/2.8 IS USM, so carp. I thought about returning em and rebuying em, but for what? $120? (I got the BG-E2 as well)... $120 off $2600 is about a 4.6% discount... Woo. :)
