Between the two I've had better experiences dealing with B&H.

I would recommend B&H, as I've had multiple bad experiences with both Adorama and KEH.

BTW, used items B&H lists in "10" condition are usually factory refurbished goods and are generally indistinguishable from new (except for the box).

I'll add this _ my best experience has come with buying from Canoga Camera and they'll usually match legitimate competition pricing if you can provide the url address to the product.

Canoga is great and I buy a lot of stuff from their actual store in Woodland Hills. For me it works out equal to or cheaper than B&H (8.25% tax <= B&H shipping on most items). Plus you can always try out stuff and return it if you dont like it. But boy B&H is like being in heaven. Its super-frigging awesome...they have EVERY FRIGGING THING!!!!! And I am talking about their actual store. If you ever get to NYC forget everything and goto 9th and 33rd....you wont regret it. And for gods sake take your camera WITH you. Oh but be warned they have some crazy store hours so you wanna do your research beforehand. I will buy used from either store with trust...although I find Craigslist cheaper.

Thanks everyone! Canoga camera appear not to ship internationally so they're out for me. I'm looking at buying from Adorama and have chosen a silver XT with kit lens and a 1gb CF card for a total of $616 including shipping to Australia. That works out to be $802 Australian Dollars and am pretty impressed with the price. Is there anything wrong with this package? I could probably spend an extra $75USD so would you suggest picking anything else to go with my camera?

I haven't actually ordered anything yet..... just dreaming for when I can hit the order button LOL. Hopefully it won't be too long.

i prefer Adorama. less people (shopper). less walk from the train to the store. the ppl are just as nice, if not nicer and more friendly. and most importantly it smells better inside. :-D

Thanks johnlo. I'm wondering now that the XT is discontinued if I'd actually be able to get an XT when I'm ready to buy one? I'm thinking about mid december is probably when I'll get to buy one.

I use Adorama as well. I've only bought new stuff so far.

B&H wont ship and bill to different addresses (i.e. ship to work but bill to home) without actually ringing them. Adorama will take a web order for this no problem.

I second the recomendation to use UPS for shipping.
So far with UPS I haven't been charged GST.
If you get it shipped with Fed Ex you will be charged GST every time.

Thanks Mike V. I assume you're in Australia. How long did it take for your package to arrive from Adorama?

Mike, I specifically said USPS, not UPS. The latter I've had GST charged but never the former.

What is the difference between the two? Adorama would ship Global express.... would that attract GST?

One is just mail: United States Postal Service. The other is a private freight company: United Parcel Service.

USPS just arrives at your door, UPS arrives via a freight forwarder often with a GST bill.
