Targus TG-BG350 for $100 or Canon BG-E3 for $140? Any reason to go with the Canon? Could the Targus be *gasp* .... better? Looking to mount it on the XTi.

read around. you will find some issues of shutter release buttons. Not saying dont go cheap, just saying educate yourself first.

I have no issues with my Opteka...then again I've never held a BG-E3 before. I'd highly recommend the Opteka as the savings you get you could spend on a nifty fifty.

The nitpicking issues I'd say (and they are very small) is that the on and off switch is a bit easy to push and doesn't click HARD....it is a minor issue though. The shutter button may be a small difference in feel than the XTi's, but not enough to make me want to spend 2 times more for a grip.

Hope you get a grip you like!

$140 for a battery grip, sheesh....you guys get it easy over there!

that works out to be around £80! we pay 140 POUNDS for a BGE2!

All right... I'm starting to change my mind. I think I need a 30D instead (gotta convince the wife though). Anyway, is there an inexpensive alternative to the $150+ BG-E2?

Although I personaly haven't used one I understand the Opteka gets a lot of votes here on POTN

30D is on its way! Anyone know for sure if Opteka makes a grip for the 30D?

When I was looking for a grip for my 20D (BG-E2), I could not find a grip made by anyone other than Canon, so I had to go that route.
