Ok decided on getting lens Sigma 10-20 or Tok 12-24

I think I might pick up the Sigma 1.4x TC as well at the same time to give me a little more reach on my long end as well

I just got the 10-20mm and the 1.4 TC. The 10-20mm is a great lens. I love the HSM. The lens is pretty sharp at all ranges. I haven't used the 12-24. But I say go for the 10-20. I've been very happy with my purchase.

6 months ago I would say get the glass - But now after upgrading my XT, I would say get the 30D. Then after you get the 30D stick to glass purchases only

Maybe I'm on the minority side here.

If you have some funds now, get a used 20D. Then sell your XT and get the lens later.

I'll doubt that you'll use you WA much at all but with new camera, you'll see a difference.

I wanted a WA for the longest time and got the Tokina. It was great for those few times that I used it and I always try and use it more and more. But most of my shootings rely on the long or portrait lenses and the WA keeps sitting in the bag.

However, I know for sure I'll miss it if I end up selling it.

This post hits home too. I love my 10-20 but it doesn't get used a whole lot. You're either a UWA person or you just kind of are. Not a lot of middle ground. If you like going wide, you may get more enjoyment out of your UWA than I do.

Actually I was thinking of getting the UWA and selling the XT and getting a USED 20D to hold me over till there is something new since the cost wouldnt be very much. Or when i can get a new 30D

Well i dont do Macro all that often either but I wanted a macro lens if I get that urge that day to go shoot some bugs. Same goes with any lens..I wann get my focal range covered. getting this 10-20 then the 100-400 then I will be done with purchasing glass

ehhhh...Yea would be nice to have all kinda stuff. but in reality my setup I have plus adding the new UWA and the 100-400 I really cant see the need for any other lens.

where is the speed? I don't see anything faster than 2.8 in your sig

For what I shoot I really dont need anything faster then 2.8....I MIGHT get the Sigma 30 1.4 but I am not a fan of primes really

That's is a good plan but becareful, it's more expensive the higher you move up. .

I heard you about Macro. It's cool and "trendy" but there's not enough bugs in my yard . I traded my 50/2.5 because I didn't use it enough but I can see that I'll probably need a Macro lens later on (someone is looking to trade his Sigma 50/2.8 Macro for the 50/1.4.. so tempting hahah).

only thing macro is kinda seasonal where I live since we have winter and no bugs left..Dont like going outside when its cold either to take pics of snowflakes or somethng.

What about objects around the house and flowers / leaves/ etc? .

I really think that would be your best bet. That way when you get some nice glass you will have a pro body to go with it and by then you will know how to use it.

Once you have a 20D in your hands you will know what we are talking about!!!!

I considered those lenses before buying the Canon 10-22 EF-S. I am glad I spent the extra money.
