Sorry to disapoint you but it was a tongue in cheek reference to a prototype, in the same way a 968 is a 944 S3.
The cars belong to a group of 944 owners, myself included. We had just finished a track evening at Silverstone.
I love the shape of the 968 but, as the majority of the underside of my car is 944/968 M030, I couldn't consider paying twice as much for a car with less power just because it looks nice.
Thanks for the comments, I've read several articals and talked to bruce about the cars very briefly, he was busy with someones cobra and disciplining one of his guys in the shop area, from what I've read and what he mentioned he's upgraded the turbo's, exhaust, intercooler and intake in efforts to comply with carb certification requirements for US DOT/smog legal requirements and managed a healthy tune on them. I didn't get to hear them run but then, I don't need to cause my 944 would sound even more like a sewing machine compared

there were 3 there when I was checking out his shop, two silver ones, and the white one in my photo. 575 HP may be a conservative "smog-legal" rating but the torque must be amazingly strong even at that. he's got a quad turbo bugatti with 611hp...
