70-200 f4 IS
150 f2.8 Macro

"Serious Bag": 5D / 14 f2.8 / 17-40 f4.0L / 50 f1.4 / 85 f1.8 / 70-200 f4L IS. "Grab Bag": 30D / 10-22 / 17-55 IS / 30 f1.4 / 70-300 DO IS. "Carryall": Pana GF-1 with 14mm f/2.5 & 20mm f1.7 / GRD2 28mm f2.4 Special Occasions: 400 5.6L, 60 & 150 Macro.

canon 24-105L IS
canon 70-200L f4

ok.. time for a realistic one based on something i could eventually afford.. a 5 L lens collection would look nice, but ide be broke...

50mm 1.8
17-85mm IS
70-200mm IS (ok, that's an expensive one, but total still under 3k)
85mm 1.8

perfectly do-able set for 350d (have first half, almost there to third lens, 4th is up in the air)

looks like i have my realistic3-5 lens collection...

however, i would replace the 50 1.8 with a 35L, and i'de add in a 10-22mm for those cityscapes... though replacing the 17-85 with a 24-70 2.8 sounds nice too..

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.
