ring shots...after the wedding?

how many of you take ring shots AFTER the wedding?

My next wedding the bride and groom are in seperate places...so, I will have to wait till later to get the shots..

is that ok?

This is normally when I take them - I have never asked them to take their rings off though...I would like to.

Sometimes I'm not able to get the shots beforehand so I'll ask them to take the rings off, and they're happy to. You could always get the ring shot w/the rings on their fingers.

I do them after the wedding more often than before, I ask them to take the rings off but only if they're comfortable doing that. If they do don't let the rings out of your sight for
a second.

If the bride or groom has both rings i do then before, if they are in the same hotel i do them before, but if they are in seperate places i jsut do them at reception...

Isn't the best man supposed to have them both beforehand? This is definitely customary here (UK).
I like to get shots of the rings beforehand (loan them from the best man), then later with the B&G wearing them. However if I don't get them done prior, I have no problem asking the couple to take them off. If they object, that's fine, it's their pic's.

Generally, I do do it beforehand, this is the first time the B&G are going to be in different places..so I wanted to ask what was customary or what you do, at our next meeting I will ask them and get their opinion then on what we will do.

I like to do them beforehand. When I am done shooting the groom and groomsman I ask who has the rings - usually the best man has them. I tell him I would like to have them to take pictures of them. I take the pics and return them right away.
