Quick filter question for 85mm f/1.2

I am about a week or two out from ordering the 85mm f/1.2 lens and I was wondering which filter you could recommend. I have narrowed it down to these two:

I know most people would say to shoot without a filter, but I would like to have one just incase I am shooting outside…

The first is a UV filter which is good for general protection, the second is a circular polarizer which helps with saturation and reduces reflections on non-metal objects, so pick which is more useful to you. Keep in mind with a circular polarizer you'll be losing 1-2 stops of light so I personally wouldn't use it indoors as it takes away the advantage of having a fast lens.

if its for lens protection then the UV would be the normal choice, a 77mm polarising to fit your 16-35mm lens would be useful too. A step up ring 72-77mm would allow you to use the polar on your 85 as well.

If you're planning on using the lens for mostly close up portraits or sports or some other non-landscape types, then I'd say neither. For that amount of money for CPL, it's not worth for your shooting needs. How often would you be using the 85mm for scenes with sky or scences with reflections off non-metal objects? For protection, just use the hood.

The B+W uv will be fine for normal use. I'm not going to get into the filter/no filter debate because we'll never agree. The B+W 010 is a top quality filter and is left on my 85mm f/1.2 for 99% of the time. It looks like you've made your own mind up anyway, and chosen a good one... You'll absolutely love that lens when you get it.
